Chania Allen

Chania was born in Nairobi, Kenya, grew up near London, England and currently resides in Burlington, Ontario and part time in St. Petersburg Florida.

An Interior Decorator by trade, it was during her Interior Design training, while rendering Interiors that teachers often told her she should be in the Art program. With this encouragement, Chania sought to expand her artistic endeavors, first through fiber art, using raw wool for hand felting and collage, and later with paint and mixed media.

Described as a Colourist, Chania’s distinctive style of abstract painting focuses on layered and exposed backgrounds, bold shapes, colors and textures, with a loose, casual vibe.  Her paintings are relaxed, charmingly quirky and slightly askew.
